Tenerife Airports
Tenerife has two airports, one in the north of the island known as Los Rodeos Airport (TFN) and one in the south, Reina Sofia Airport (TFS).
As Tenerife is only around 65 miles long and is served by these two airports; there is usually a relatively quick transfer to most parts of the island.
Tenerife North airport is situated around 11 km from the island’s capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife and this airport is used in the main for inter-island flights.
Tenerife South airport is situated towards the south east coast of the island and is close to such popular destinations as Los Christianos, Play de las Americas and along to Costa Adeje.
Although most holiday makers are likely to have a hotel transfer included in their holiday package, for those who are travelling independently, both airports are well served with public transport, taxis and car-rental. For those arriving without accommodation, assistance for this is also available in the terminals.
Both the north and south airports have in recent times benefitted greatly from major passenger facility upgrades and travelers can now look forward to a good selection of shops, cafes, bars, and communication / banking services. In Tenerife South airport the cafe as you clear security has particularly fine views over the runway.
For those holidaymakers arriving into Reina Sofia Airport in the south and who want more information on what to do or where to stay while on the island, there is a Tourist Information desk available to provide assistance.
